Professional Profile

I am currently the Computer Support Specialist in the University of Kentucky Department of Community and Leadership Development. My primary responsibilities involve web development, graphic design, social media/strategic digital marketing, and desktop system support. I previously served as an Event Coordinator in the Department of Community and Leadership Development. I am preparing for graduate studies in new media and digital content creation.

In the Department of Community and Leadership Development, I presently manage 6 social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts for both the Community and Leadership Development and Agricultural Education undergraduate majors. In this position, I serve on the Communications Committee in which I collaborate with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to determine appropriate voice and aesthetics for the departmental website. In this position, I have written, developed, and edited language associated with undergraduate program recruitment materials and events. Further, I assist in the creation of digital faculty presentations and other content development for other professional materials. I developed the Department of Community and Leadership Development Social Media and Digital Communications Guide to streamline content submitted from faculty and staff to be promoted on our unit social media accounts.

I am the author of the lifestyle blog Space, Place & Southern Grace. My book, Lessons We Paid For, is an experience-based guide for upcoming and current college students. Addressing a variety of issues such as living, learning, sexuality, mental health, and more, Lessons We Paid For challenges readers to adopt a feminist perspective when making decisions in college. This book is well-suited for prospective students, their parents, college advisors and recruiters, among others interested in modern feminist literature.
