Professional Profile

Lori's Extension program applies sociological concepts and methods to strategies for enhancing community development through: community and organizational strategic planning, Board of Directors training, nonprofit development, volunteer management, conflict management, and land use planning. She is a faculty associate of CEDIK (Community and Economic Development Initiative of Kentucky) as well as UK Equine Programs. Her research and teaching focus on community development and change as well as community and group dynamics.

She is an instructor for the national ”Foundations of Practice - Community Development” webinar series sponsored by the National Rural Development Centers and the “Practice of Community Development” webinar training for the USDA/Rural Development. She has also co-facilitated national training workshops for Ready Community program – sponsored by Southern Rural Development Center (SRDC), 2014 - 2015
