Adkins Headshot

Hannah Adkins

Hannah is supervised by Kendra Rowland at Mercer County Senior High School.
"I am Hannah Adkins, Daughter of Mark and Terry Adkins of Laytonsville, Maryland. Both of my parents were agriculture teachers so I grew up in the agriculture classroom. I found my passion for agriculture in my Freshman introduction to horticulture class at Damascus High School. I decided to attend the University of Kentucky to pursue a degree in Career and Technical Education. Although the University brought me to Kentucky, I am staying in the state for the Kentucky gentleman I met along the way. I am excited to be getting married this summer and to start a career of teaching agriculture this summer as well.
My love for Agriculture Education, FFA and Supervised Agriculture Experiences has given me the opportunity to work with so many great students through my life. I am excited to begin my career as an agriculture educator after my graduation from the University of Kentucky in May. I plan on obtaining my masters degree in education leadership within my first few years of teaching. Working with students is my passion and something I plan to do for many years to come."

"I am an upcoming graduate from the University of Kentucky where, in May of 2019, I will obtain my Bachelors of Science in Career and Technical Education with an emphasis in Agriculture Education. I am passionate not only about agriculture, but the animal science pathway especially. I have career goals that close mirror what I am seeing in my day to day routine in this season of life. I have goals of becoming the best educator I can be while ensuring my students get the most opportunities as possible along the way. I enjoy learning from my students and when they learn from me therefore it is my goal to ensure that learning occurs in my classroom everyday."

"Never be afraid to try something new, because life gets boring if we stay within the limits of what we already know."

"I was raised in Taylorsville, Kentucky by my parents Nick and Marlene DeVito where I lived in a rural area. I was heavily involved in many clubs, sports and organizations upon graduation of Spencer County High School in 2015. The following fall I began my studies at the University of Kentucky in Career and Technical Education where I continued in organizations on and off campus as well as many service leadership opportunities. I anticipate graduation in May of 2019.

My career goals include graduating from the University of Kentucky with a bachelors degree in Career and Technical Education in May and obtain a job educating others about agriculture within the United States. After ten or so years, I would like to return back to Kentucky to continue educating the youth on agriculture."
