In many lines of work, professionals view themselves as problem solvers. They/we are trained to ask, "What’s the problem?” In this session, we will focus on asking a different question: What’s the story? In our time together we will use a “fishbowl” process to experience and debrief a practical tool called a “story circle,” exploring how it might be adapted and utilized in community development, classroom and community-based education, and professional and organizational development.

Presenter:

Scott Peters, PhD, Professor, Department of Global Development at Cornell University, and Faculty Co-Director Emeritus of Imagining America: Artists and Scholars in Public Life

Host:

Nicole Breazeale, PhD, Associate Extension Professor, Department of Community and Leadership Development at the University of Kentucky
