Dr. Julie N. Zimmerman was recognized with the top award from the Kentucky Association of State Extension Professionals (KASEP) during their spring meeting as a deserving Extension faculty member who is a member of KASEP and has five or more years of service in the Cooperative Extension Service as an Extension faculty member in Kentucky.

"Dr. Zimmerman's Extension program impacts every aspect of county and state Extension programming, services, and planning - often in ways we do not consciously recognize because her work is the data foundation for decisions in these areas.  She is the most trusted, local resource for Kentucky Extension educators, grass roots and elected leaders.  She approaches her Extension work with infectious joy and focused purpose that inspires the next generation of leaders." -- Ron Hustedde, Ph.D. - Extension Professor Emeritus, Community and Leadership Development.

Dr. Zimmerman is a professor in Community and Leadership Development, a Milton Coughenour Professor of Rural Sociology, and Historian for the Rural Sociological Society.  Julie manages Kentucky By The Numbers

The Kentucky: By The Numbers program is designed to address challenges associated with the changing landscape of secondary data by enhancing skills in using secondary data for local decision-making.
